Maunsel House in Taunton, Somerset
Maunsel House is a magnificent 13th Century Manor set in 100 acres of stunning parkland located in a beautiful setting in Taunton, Somerset.
It was back in 1086 AD when the manor was named ‘Maunsel’, which derived from the French meaning ‘Sleeve of Land’.
Maunsel House is now licensed for civil ceremonies that take place in the manor’s beautiful ballroom or the wisteria covered gazebo and elegant bandstand and is available for exclusive hire for wedding parties of a variety of sizes, anything between 25 and 200 guests.
However, Maunsel House also caters for church weddings as the enchanting St. Michael’s church is located within walking distance of the venue. It is one of the smallest churches in England with seating for up to just 50 guests. However, if you would like more guests, there are two larger churches within the parish that are just a short drive away.
There are several areas within the walled gardens of Maunsel House that couples can choose to host the different aspects of their wedding. For example, during the summer couples may wish to have their reception outside and dine alfresco under the roofed pergola. If the temperature was to drop in the evening there are overhead heaters and chimineas available to keep guests warm.
Maunsel House also has accommodation for up to 13 couples, with 13 luxurious rooms available within the main house. Many of the rooms have four poster beds, all of which are stocked with beautifully soft bathrobes and toiletries allowing the bride and groom and their guests to feel truly at home for the day.
There are in-house wedding planners available to organise every detail of the day including the ceremony, reception, catering and accommodation all tailored to the bride and groom’s specifications.
Maunsel House provides both privacy and a unique atmosphere for an unforgettable wedding day, so if you are looking to get married in the county of Somerset, why not consider this venue; it is a truly beautiful wedding venue in Somerset.
